Celebrating 30 years of Reproductive and Sexual Justice
July 2024 will mark the 30th Anniversary of the meeting where 12 Black women coined the phrase “reproductive justice” (RJ) in Chicago.
About Reproductive Justice History
In 1994, 12 luminaries came together, bringing with them their vast and diverse experiences and expertise that rooted, along with Black feminist theory and human rights, the RSJ analysis, theory, and framework. With this pivotal event, we want to tell the story, recognize and credit the Black women who developed the theoretical framework, which ultimately became a movement.
